We celebrated Cinco de Mayo this year with bold colors, fiesta music blasting over the stereo, “Mexican” cuisine, and a little salsa dancing. One day we tell little Opal the story of the Battle of Puebla and why it was an important event in Mexican history, but this year Cinco de Mayo is all about the bright colors and fun mariachi music.
The fiesta preparations began a few days before. We made fiesta flowers from tissue paper. (The easy peasy tutorial is available here!)
And decorated the dining room for the big event.
Let the fiesta begin!
We had pugs in sombreros.
Salsa dancing babies on table tops.
A little dress up.
And a little Mexican Chocolate Avocado Mousse for dessert.
As the party began to wind down, we finished our dessert, mama and papa drank the last sips of the mango margaritas, and we exchanged our fiesta attire for PJs. Another fun fiesta for the books!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
