Opal Bloom // 3 Months

Dear Opal,

You are absolutely the happiest three month old I know. You spend most of your days smiling and laughing with your little feet always on the go. We are just waiting for you to take your first crawl, because you certainly try and try with all your might. Soon enough, we won’t be able to keep up.

To mama and papa’s delight, you love to explore and have become such a great hiker riding in your pack. You ride along, with your eyes wide, taking in the sights. Sometimes we hear you laughing and cooing into the breeze. Sometimes you fall into a peaceful sleep warmed by the sun. We are just happy that the outdoors seems to be your happy place too.

We are also happy that you love fresh fruit. Mama and papa are suckers for your sweet cheeks and gave youΒ your first tastes of the juice from an apple slice and a pear. Pear, so far, is your favorite. Mine too. So in the afternoon we share a piece of fruit and I watch you grin and coo with your little tongue sticking out just waiting for another taste. Then we always share a piece with Charlotte, because she likes apples and pears too.

You are certainly healthy and eating well because twice we have had to clean out your dresser drawers over the past month, as you have taken two big growth spurts and are now in a size six months at only three months old. That called for new sleepers that I just knew looked too big, and onesies, and even socks. Packing away your tinyΒ clothes is always hard for me. Our tiny baby is not so tiny anymore. But we are so glad you are growing and are more and more active every day.

You are just too much fun to be around these days. You make us laugh. You keep us focused on the important things. You keep us on our toes. I can’t really even remember what life was like before you came along. I suppose it was filled with a lot less hugs and kisses, a lot of wasted time, a lot of days exactly the same. Life was just boring without our happy baby.
